festivities. Frankie lives! Student Body Pres. Jay Of- fenberger introduces the participants of the assembly. The grim reaper! Senior Keith Boston shows that his time has come to win in the costume contest. rl gn Halloween - BOO! Halloween is the time of year when the season is changing - blood-red, yellow, and rust- colored leaves are falling, and people are settling down to face a cold, long winter. But, for WHS students, it's a time of tricks, treats and ghosts and goblins. This year Halloween tookton a new dimension of spirit and fun. One factor that led to a suc- cessful holiday was the fact that Halloween fell on Friday. A combination Halloweenfpep assembly was scheduled for the afternoon. A sunflower, shiek, shark and even the grim reaper filled the gym- nasium. Among the noisy crowd was assistant principal Ray Davidson who was dressed as a monster. This year's Halloween spirit showed in the number of dressed-up students. A record number of students and teachers participated, trying to make this year count! Raggedy . . . Ann? Brian Vaughan shows his spirit as he dressed up for the Halloween WILHISHAN 15

Mall crew. Students fre- quently go to the Mall to meet others from other schools. Just friends. Many students, such as Angela Watt and Blair Newton, seniors, enjoy going out with friends. THE DATING GAME It's a proven fact: teens love to date. Over half of the students surveyed say they go out every weekend. Where is the most popular place to go? According to the majority, it's a trip to the movies. Next on the list is dinner and third is the Mall. Of those students that go out every weekend, close to 90 percent have a steady boyfriend or girlfriend. Only 10 percent date different people. Most of the students find their dates elsewhere. The majority go to Marietta or Parkersburg High School. Does chivalry still exist in today's modern world? At WHS it does. Out of those surveyed, most say the guy drives and picks up the check. Everyone seems to have some fantasy about the perfect date - one where everything is beautiful and somewhat of a fairy tale. Christy Altmann, sophomore, doesn't ask for much. Her idea of a perfect date is one where she doesn't have to take her little brother Ricky along! WILHISHAN 1 7
