OFFICERS President ' - - - ELMER KooNs S E N I Q R S Vice President - - EVELYN HAAS Secretary - - MARY LoU GSTALDER Treasurer - CHARLES CAMPBELL A Letter to the Class of l944 DEAR CLASS: As I look back on that September morning three years ago when the job of class adviser was dropped without warning into my unwilling lap, lim afraid that I let you know that I wasn't very happy about it all. And I wasn'tl Iad seen too many harassed class teachers dashing about through the halls on a myriad of errands that had to be fitted into a schedule already full. What I could not foresee then is that being a class adviser has a wealth of compensations. I have come to know many of you as friends in a way that is seldom possible in a classroom relationship. It has been fun to work with you-to make our Junior Benefit a success, to plan our parties, to watch the Senior Play develop, to choose our operetta for your Class Day, and to decide on which com- mencement announcement was the best looking. In every one of the countless details that were involved in your class activities, I have 20
