Q This year, the operetta was given by the Williamsport High School Choir, a group of selected voices . Both the choral numbers and solos were outstanding, The operetta was entitled Cherryb1ossom. The setting was laid in Japan and was quite colorful along with the elaborate Japanese costumes. Cherryblossom fPatsy Clinej believes she is Japanese but actually she is an American and when Worthington fDonald Druryj, James Young QFred Downsj, Jessica Uanice Forsythey, Harry Jones fLarry Lowmanj, and Jack Smith fChar1es Milesj all arrive on a yacht for a visit Jack falls in love with Cherry- blossom and she plans to return to America with them much to Kokerno's Uoe Marshy and Togo's CRoderick Wagnerj disgust. WE REMINISCEH The Senior Class of 52 turns back the hands of time to Sept. 7, 1948. That was the be- ginning of our great careerg We knew we had a rugged path lying before us but we were pre- pared to face all problems that might cross it. The Freshman year found us adjusting ourselves to high school life. It was easy for some and difficult for others. That year four new teachers joined the staff of W. H, S, We will never forget Mr. Scott's science class. It was during that year we practiced sending Morse Code. We also had fun applying artificial respiration. This was very much needed after our struggle in algebra class, where we were trying to find the unknown quantity. Upon completing our Freshman year we had made our first step over that rugged path, Sophomores! - Howwell the academic Students remember this year - the first year of Latin, How could they forget - Labor omnia vincit. This is a phrase that was often quoted by their Latin teacher, Miss Hitchens. After completing the first semester, we had a vague idea of what to expect in second year Latin, Geometry was also a challenge to the academic students. This subject was supposed to teach us to reason logically. By the end ofthe Sophomore year, the commercial students had completed a course in junior business and were now preparing themselves for further study in the secretarial field. The end of the Sophomore year brought us over the second step of the path that was lying before us. The commercial students remember well the Junior year. This was the year they were introduced to typing and shorthand. What a time they had learning the keys on a typewriter! Oh! ! I That first week of dictation. While the commercial students were busy typing, the academics were busy with their ex- periments in chemistry. Look out! There goes another test tube! Time passed quickly and before we knew it, we were planning for the greatest event of the year, the Junior - Senior Prom. What a time we had deciding upon an orchestra! But the prom turned out to be a huge success. The Senior year was our most significant year of school. Many events took place that year, The most important one was the publishing of the Annual. We spent many hours getting the pages ready to meet our various deadlines. Another important event that took place was the Senior Play, Aaron Slick From Punkin Crick. We have enjoyed our four years of learning and we will always hold on to our memories - pleasant and otherwise. The Senior year brought us over the final path, but we still have an even greater one to cross -' The Path of Life. 7 1 Q- 10 XXX 0122.4 POTOMAC emu. 5 L The Gan GQLLCPS .FYank'3 Sunclay ilinrsers our SPeciQL N.Cohocockcafue ST- WillidmsP0YT,Md SULLIVAN 3' APPLIANCE ST 0BE H Your nP'la.yTa.gnDea.ler Mosf Molerh Anrliancesx E.
