The Chapter Activities Report, a yearly account of a money raising activity, involved gathering funds to support the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. The cluh held the annual Christmas Ball at Walker Hall and the theme was Dance for the Lady . All proceeds went towards the restoration. The Nestle Company manufactured chocolate Statues of Liberty. The club purchased some, set up a booth at Country Store and Safeway grocery stores, and sold them to benefit the project. The local chapter also attended many conferences including the Voit Conference III at ASU early in the year. This helped prepare them for their individual jobs. Western Regional Fall Leadership Conference was held in Tucson in November. The first competitive conference was held on February 3 at NAU. Yavapai College Skills Day was attended by many clubs and business students as well. The State Leadership Conference was held in Tucson. The WHS chapter's year seemed filled with fun and work. In the computer room, Heidi Speckles types copy for the Staff. 6. At the Printer, Jimmy Price gets print-outs of the Staffer's copy.

Club members Jorge Hansen, Kim German, Lisa Baertlein, Shelley Malone and Michelle Jaramillo look over past minutes of club activfl ir .p, The Statue of Liberty celebrated her 98th birthday in 1984 and she began to show her age. The statue was worn from constant pummeling by wind, salt air and acid rainand the iron ribbing supporting the copper covering was badly corroded. A two-year restoration began in July 1984.
