(l)New members Annie Wynia ,Shawn Winehester, Barbi Parenteau,and Kim German were inducted on Sunday,Jan.22.(2 During a meeting NHS take time out for some fun. To discuss the rules and | regulations of NHS the old members decided to have coffee and doughnuts at a coffee shop before school with the new members.Noth ing turned out right due to not being ready member rushed through their breakfast in order to get to school on time.Since the whole school morning was off schedule,the mem-!bers went to school late. Thank goodness for the fire drill it saved them from being late. To be considered,you must be in 10th grade and have a 3«0 average A committee is appointed by the principal,cn the basis of character,service, and leadership considers you for the soceity.The of the soceity are Presi. Vicki Hansen;Vice-Presi., Jeff Smith;Sec. Tusayan Tusayan Staff Enjoys an Exciting Year A change in book production and concern for student cost of the book prompted this year’s staff to undertake doing their own paste-ups for a savings of $600. Although the increased work took time , stated Advisor Bonnie Dent, the career possibilities when one knows how to allow students chances at many jobs. Tusayan journalists t tried to keep book costs down by selling ads, sponsoring dances,candy sales and hamburger sales. The Air Band dance and concert was a most success ful money-raiser. The Yearbook Staff for the 1983-84 year are T.Hoffman,S.Sullivan,T.Andrede,E.Gabaldon, Editor;K.Kiker,L.Sanehe z,Business Manager;A.Sanchez, A. Sandoval, L.Vasquez, M. Cox, E. Shroyer, M. Lambert, L. Talakte, J. Ho ward, M. Garibay, Mrs. Bonnie Dent,Advisor;and V.Winslow. 26 Clubs Tusayan (l)A late initation was held for Kim Kiker and Vicki Winslow since they were not present at the early initation held for the new students.Terri Hoffman and Liz Shroyer were there to witness the events.(2)Luisa Vas-works quietly on the first deadline of the year. A letter was received by students who had tried to sell Barry Goldwater a ad for the yearbook. It included a $50 donation and was much appreciated

I Band | Competition Boosts Band to Goals What organization was so rambunctious that they even tried to sell $12. beach towells in February? Viking Band! We'll do anything to raise money for our trip to California, stated Director Faun Nichols-Brown. The trip was to Mountain States Band Festival. A similar competition last year proved unforgettabl We measured up well, and we wanted to show off again, stated drummer, Robert Cardani. Band member, Mike Cox succeeded at earning a position in the areawide Honor Band. We're proud that Mike will represent us, stated Mrs. Nichols-Brown. Band members include H. Jensen, M. Lambert, L.
