( )At halftime, Sam Hatcher and Vicki Hansen were announced as Homecoming King and Queen. (5) The juniors' float caotured first place. Classes Compete to Prove Spirit Seniors Triumph in Week’s Events mores' float, Happiness Is Being A Viking. Juniors' float, Happiness Is Sailing On To Victory, took first, while freshmens' float, Happiness Is Viking Spirit, took third. Townspeople came to watch the short parade. When asked if she liked the parade, D. Otero said, It was fantastic! Everything was organized really well! I thought the floats looked really awesome! Another event that took place during Homecoming Week, was the bonfire. At the bonfire, the cheerleaders led the spectators in a great number of rowdy cheers. After Mr. Douglas Lee led the spirited crowd, he summed up the event, Last year there was a little more people, but not more noise! The people were really rowdy this year! •Ml Hall decorating is tackled by most class members very enthusiastically. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors worked really hard to make the WHS halls look spirited. Brainstorming initiated the theme, Happiness Is.... . Based on this idea, the spirited students got together and worked to win first place. When asked how she thought the halls looked, K. German said, I think they look great! Float decorating was an after school event which involved many students, teachers, and parents. After a lot of napkins, spray paint, and hard work, the floats were ready for the parade. Seniors' float was based on the theme, Happiness Is Graduation, which tied for second with the sopho-

• (l) Prep , C. Pouquette, and Puhker , L. Payne, take time out from the Masquerade Ball to get their pictures taken by Mrs. Dent. (2)Couples dance to the music at the Masquerade Ball. Thanks to Jimmy Briggs, the D.J., couples had a good time dancing the night away. (3)Standing in front of judges, saloon girl, S. Malone, and “punker , J. Hansen, compete for a prize. Prizes to be awarded were first place- admission money returned and second place- candy bars from Tusayan Staff. 16 Student Life Dances
