We began our senior year at a very rapid pace. We took an active part in the school activities. There were twelve seniors on the Viking Staff; eleven senior girls were in the Drum and Bugle Corps with Rosemary Grace as Majorette. Sixteen of us were in Glee Club, seven were in Thespian Club, and ten in Dramatic Club. Five senior boys played their last year of high school football with Alfred Brinias receiving Honorable Mention, All Northern. Four senior boys played on the Varsity Basketball Team. At the class election Andy Rodriquez was elected president; Bobby Pena, vice-president; Joanna Porter, secretary-treasurer; and Donnie Owens, senior class representative to the Student Council. Alfred Brinias was elected president of the Student Council and Peggy Jacobson was elected social manager by the students of Williams High School. In the same election Joyce Burrage was elected head cheerleader and Peggy Jacobson and June Walker were elected cheerleaders. In November we presented The Daffy Dills , which was said to be one of the most successful plays given in Williams High. Our Senior Hop was given April 19. The theme was Arabian Nights. The 0ueen was Mary Munoz and the King was Andy Rodriquez. Joyce Burrage and Alfred Brinias were the attendants. During the year we gained two members in the class, Jean Oleson and Jim Fowler. We closed our years in high school with graduation May 15, and we went on our picnic to Oak Creek the next day. Joanna Porter Op

SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1948, thirty-nine frightened freshmen entered Williams High School. A few weeks later the sophomores officially welcomed us into high school. We then elected our class officers. Andy Rodriquez was elected president; Donnie Owens, vice-president; Peggy Jacobson, secretary; and Joanna Porter, treasurer. In October we entertained the school at the annual Halloween dance. At the conclusion of the Junior High Tournament, Alfred Brinias was chosen on the All-Northern First Team. After semester exams we then enjoyed a picnic at Oak Creek Canyon with the sophomore class. When we closed our freshman year, the following students were no longer with us: Rosemary Platt, Therma L. Dial, Barbara Frongner, and Barbara Sroesbeck. We began our sophomore year with the initiation of the freshman. By this time we were used to high school life, and many of us were participating in extra-curricular activities. At our class election we elected Phyllis Huff as president; Donnie Owens, vice-president; Coraleen Mayes, secretary; and Harold Williamson, treasurer. Before Christmas vacation we sponsored the Christmas dance. Our B squad team had a successful season with eight wins and two losses. The freshmen took us on a picnic at the close of the year. Quite a dent was made in our class of forty students with the loss of Evelyn Barker, Coy Carl, Sequoya Carl, Arlene Kennedy, Dolores Lucero, Jack O'Neil, Eddie Rekos, Shirley Stewart, and Gary Smith. June Walker, Robert Treece, and Louann Johnson joined our class before school was out. We began our junior year with thirty-two students. At our first meeting we elected officers. Robert Treece was chosen president; Donnie Owens, vice-president; Mary Munoz, secretary-treasurer. We were quite proud of being upper-classmen. In the spring we gave our junior play, Twixteen , From the play we earned the money to put on the Junior Prom and to take the senior class on a picnic to Oak Creek. Our theme for the Prom was Silhouettes. Peggy Jacobson was chosen Queen and Donnie Owens was chosen King. Joanna Porter and Alfred Brinias were the attendants. After a very successful basketball season in which we won All Northern Championship, Andy Rodriquez was chosen Captain, All Northern First Team. During the year we lost Robert Treece, Carl Coatney, Phyllis Huff, Jerri Rekos, Leroy White, and Antoinette White.
