THE TUSAYAN CLASS PROPHECY 1960 Believe me. life in a newspaper office is certainly no cinch- VVhew!!! This's the first time I've sat down today- If I'd known in high school that I'd ever be a society editor for a newspaper, I would certainly have changed my ways, and fas-t!! Everyone has left the office already and I have four articles to write yet. Let me see now. Oh, yes. there's that column on Jean Cravey's l.awn party. I do wish she wouldn't entertain so much. I practically live out there as it is. Ever since she married that famous scientist. Professor Try- hard, all she's done is to give lawn parties. Oh, well!! It's all right if you have the money. While I'm here, I may as well clean my file-iHmm-m-m. Well, what do you know? Here's that article I wrote last fall about the Camera Couple g those two girls were in my class in school. Patsy Guindazola was interested in photography even in high school. I guess she took Jessie Gamboa in as a partner after our class grad- uated. They were the ones who invented the self-developing cam- era, that's guaranteed to make all photos good looking, regardless of the subject!! Say, 1 must look them up. Oh, and here's that column on Isabell Fernandez' concert in Car- negie Hall. She's really quite famous nowg first she sang over the air and now she's in opera. She plans to marry soon. however. Her fiance is the famous Naval officer, Fito Cruz. I see where she spent a week at the Bustamante penthouse. I'll never forget when Bella made her fortune as a majorette of sixteen tightrope walkers. She nearly broke her neck, but I guess it was worth it. Look where she is now, right on top of the world. By the way, I must do that write-up about the Johnson Dancing Team. I'rn certainly glad that my former school chum, Elsie Larson. finally found a dancing partner. And she couldn't be any happier than she is with Van. He was her idol, even in school. I'l1 never forget her collection of pictures pasted on the inside of her locker! She must have had three or four hundred at least!!! Here's that report on the VanTyne vs. Rogers lawsuit. Poor Myrna Faye!! She was prospering very well in that beauty shop of hers until she overdid the job of face lifting on the VanTyne dame- Boy!! did she look a sight with all six chins up under her eyes!! Oh, there goes that 10:30 bus. I surely wish Mary Matson would buy a new bus. That one practically gives all the passengers the palsy, it shakes so much. Mary is actually stuttering now! I don't wonder at it, though, what with all the back seat drivers the poor girl has. Oh. yes, and I remember hearing the other day that Aurora Bal- deras celebrated her anniversary. Let me see. She was the one who was the famous interpreter and now each of her five children speaks a different language- I'm glad she and Admiral Baca are so happy. For heaven's s-ake! I'd almost forgotten this write!-up on the Art Exhibition. Belia Manrriquez and Beatrice Lopez have certainly gone far since they were in high school. They have a new modern fContinued on Page Fortyj 13

THE TUSAYAN SENIOR CLASS HISTORY CContinued from Page Elevenj Jean.Cravey were twirlers. We presented the senior play, Glamour Girl . It was a big success. The Senior Hop was given, which re- warded all of us for our mighty efforts in the planning of it, and it proved to be a fitting climax for the activities of the class of '45. Our Commencement program was a beautiful conclusion for our days in Williams High School. Mary Matson Class Historian 12

I, kBelii Manrriquez, will my artistic ability to Nancy Grace for further improvement. I, Mary Matson, bestow my boy friend, Segetti, upon Kathryn Dye. I, Myrna Faye Rogers, do leave my freckled nose to Ilene Barker. I, Beatrice Lopez, do hereby leave my bugle to one of next year's freshmen. I, Henry Southworth, bequeath my long legs to Johnny Tissaw hoping he will be able to make a good stand. I, Evelyn Wright, will my ability as cheer leader to someone who can yell louder than I can. May you always be happy, even though the school will never be the same after we are gone. In witness whereof we, the Class of 1945, do place our seal. 14
