Second Homecoming Among the many activities planned for lVlitchell's second Homecoming was the football game on Friday night, October 20. Halftime ceremonies at the game featured Queen Kathy and her attendants. After being given flowers, Kathy lVlinor presented the 1967 Homecoming Award to lVlr. Earl Ruem, the coordinator of the student activities of the Denver Pub- lic Schools. lVlitchell's Marching Band inspired the halftime ceremonies by providing music for the Homecoming theme. Their selections included This is lVly Country and Stars and Stripes Forever. Nlembers of Pep Club, the pompon squad, and the cheerleaders decorated the entire football field by car- rying their colorful display of American and state flags. Class competition floats were judged during half- time, andthe outcome proved to be rewarding for the seniors, who won class competition points.
