,,4h.. I :milf I '. .VIDIQ G QFPICI-SR July 1976 - Present COMMANDER WARREN E. MC LAINE JR. COMMANDER WARREN E. MCLAINE Jr., U.S. Navy, was born on 2 May 1935 and is a native of Washington, D.C. He was commissioned Ensign, USNR upon graduation from Cornell University's NROTC program in February 1958 and began his naval career aboard USS FINCH QDER 3285. After eighteen months as a civilian and selected reservist, COMMANDER McLAlNE was called to active duty in 1961 and served aboard the USS WALTON iDE 3613 as ASW Officer. ln 1962 he was ordered to the USS ELDORADO QAGC 111 where he served initially as First Lieutenant, augmented to the Regular Navy, attended Fleet Communications Officer Course and subsequently completed his tour aboard ELDORADO as Communications Officer. Prior to assuming command of USS WILLIAM M. WOOD QDD 7155, COMMANDER McLAlNE'S assignments included Course Coordinator, ASW Air Controller's Course in San Diego, Staff Communications Officer, Antisubmarine Warfare Group ONE, COMSEC Advisor to the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Joint General Staff lJ-65 on the staff of Commander, U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam CJ-63 and as Executive Officer, USS CACAPON QAO 52i. COMMANDER MCLAINE also com- pleted a tour in Washington, D.C. where he served as Head of the Electronics Warfare Section on the staff ofthe Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Surface Warfare. COMMANDER McLAlNE holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern Califor- nia. COMMANDER McLAINE's decorations and awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy Commenda- tion Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with seven bronze stars, the Vietnamese Honor Medal First Class and the Vietnam Service Medal. COMMANDER McLAlNE is married to the former LINDA KOVALESKY of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They have two daughters.

He was commissioned Ensign, U.S. Navy upon graduation from Villanova University's NROTC program in June 1960 and began his naval career aboard USS BORDELON lDD 881l. ln 1963 COMMANDER CASTANO was ordered to MIT as an Assistant Professor of Naval Science in MlT's EDO program. He subsequently served as Navigator aboard the USS CAMBRIA lLPA 36l before reporting to Staff. Commander Naval Forces Vietnam as Current Operations Officer in 1966. After Vietnam, COM- MANDER CASTANO attended U.S. Naval Destroyer School before being detailed as Operations Officer aboard USS GOODRICH QDD 831l. Prior to assuming command of USS WILLIAM M. WOOD fDD 715l, COMMANDER CASTANO's assignments included duty on the Staff, Commander Operational Test and Evaluation Force and as Executive Officer on USS O'HAFtE lDD 8891. COMMANDER CASTANO has done postgraduate study at MlT's Sloan School of Management, attended the Naval Com- mand and Stalf Course at the Naval War College, Newport, and holds a Master of Science degree from George Washington University. His next tour was as Chief Engineer on the USS CROCKETT CPG 881. Upon completion of CROCKETT's Vietnam tour, LCDR. KENSLOW reported to the Pentagon in 1969 to serve as Aide to the Director of Naval Intelligence. ln 1971 LCDR. KENSLOW attended Naval Destroyer School and upon graduation reported to USS MULLINNIX QDD 9441 as Operations Officer. ln 1974 he attended Armed Forces Staff College In Norfolk, Va. Upon graduation he reported to USS BELKNAP QCG-261 as Operations Officer and served on BELKNAP until her decommissioning in December 1975. LCDR. KENSLOW reported aboard WOOD on 27 May 1976. LCDR.
