TOULO Despite the exotic sound of the name, Toulon is not a resort. The city did, how- ever, seem familiar to the men of the WOOD. For it's the site of the largest French naval base, a Norfolk on the Mediterranean, and sailors everywhere speak much the same lan- guage, whether with an English or French accent. It was a common sight aboard WOOD to see our French counterparts visit- ing and attending our nightly movie.
