A new part of the Decade of Excellence program began this year with the kickoff of a five-year S10 million campaign. The first phase of the program is the construction of a 33.6 million dollar physical education build- ing, hopefully to be completed by late 1979. The second phase involves the 31.75 million conversion of Brown gymnasium into the art theater, pyschology, and mathematics de- partments. Phase three of the campaign will involve the renovation of Marston Hall at 31.65 million. The remainder of the S10 mil- lion will serve as operational funds for the college. Earnest T. Lindsay, trustee for the college and president of the regional farm coopera- tive for Farmland Industries was appointed as general campaign chairman. Due to his increasing necessity to be away from the college to solicit rinancial support for this campaign, President Field made sev- eral changes in the administration of the col- lege. Dr. Bruce R. Thomson, formerly the vice-president for administration will take the position of executive vice-president, where he will direct all business and financial affairs of the college. Dr. Daniel M. Lambert was promoted to the position of assistant to the president, while Ms. Johnnie Human, formerly dean of women, will replace him as dean of student affairs. Lastly, Gary Phelps was promoted to senior associate dean of students. Administration 5 it gk, ,,.r,.v,..,- F'-. .gs T t 1 will . S 'Eg ' as V W Q 1 1 ,. ' .
