Over and over the magnificent spotlight traversed the dome of the great arena, and many actors rose to heights, played their brief roles against a backdrop of perpetually-changing scenery, and then fell back whence they had come, after the fashion of all things. And the silent audience forever watched . . . And a thousand acts opened and closed, and a War was enacted, and a love portrayed, and a million events were dramatized before the viewers' piercing stares. And each was of the greatest consequence in itself, yet all melted, inevitably, into the confused background that, in time, consumes all that has occurred in the past. And the revolving stage turned continuously, and myriads of players came and went. Here We stand at the very brink of the stage door granted but one brief moment of respite ere we are thrust into our parts in the drama that is life. We go, not unprepared for behind us lie the long years of care- ful rehearsal, which themselves comprise a sort of pro- logue, as they are not merely a period of preparation, but also a most vital beginning to our play. lt is to principles acquired in these coaching years that we must ultimately revert when once we step before the curtain. Completion of high school is not the attainment of ourncys lznd. It is merely the end of four years of schooling, 'i period which has been i tiriining ground in the habits of community living. 5011 fqjlli' l1lGQth gg ,A M9 if 1 ,,TMURNTONlllILDEH ,26 'L 7' A. er' 0 .ft Qb4.1l.r'n't I 4190, , ,,.
