A Time to Li e It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of seniors, it was the age of freshmen, it was the epoch of self confidence, it was the epoch of fear, it was the season of fall, it was the season of school,we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, and we were all going straight to Taft. We were the freshmen filled with anxiety, hope, bewilderment, and the all-consuming thought that we too would soon achieve the heights the seniors had at- tained. Before we realized it, we were the ones who set the example. We were the ones judged most criti- cally. We were the ones wearing hats laden with but- tons and pins, bearing them as kings and queens bear their crowns. There were pride and happiness, sad- ness and anticipation of the future, the future that would be our lives. We realize now more than ever before how big a part time plays in our lives. The four years have passed so quickly. They were years mingled with joys and sadness. They were the years in which we gained the maturity we now possess. They were the years that brought us closer and closer to our goal. We closed our eyes for a moment, and our senior year had flown by. The prom was over. Our hats were put away never to be worn again. We were carrying away with us a great feeling of pride and accomplish- ment. Someday we would look back upon these four years knowing that they would always be in our mem- ory, but we could never relive them. We are young, though. We have a world to live in, explore, and conquer. We are full of hope and de- sire and are on the pathway to success. We know we will not fail. HARRIET CERSHON MARIAN SACKS
