Time to Retire Mrs. Mary G. Ascher retired last October, com- pleting a successful career that started when she be- gan teaching at Thomas Jefferson High School. Upon ' graduation from the City College of New York where she majored in Business Administration, Mrs. Ascher received her Masters degree in Education from New York University. She also took courses in guidance at Columbia University. Mrs. Ascher came to Taft in September, 1946, after serving as acting Administrative Assistant at Colum- bus for one and a half years. She sums up her years here when she says, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Taft. It gives me a personal satisfaction to know that I have been able to help many students when they came to me in need of guidance.
