Did you ever sTop Tor a momenT To wonder wheTher oTher people were Thinking The same Thing as They looked aT you? IT is hard someTimes To realize ThaT each one of The millions of people in The world has many of The same ambiTions, emoTions, Tears ThaT you have, no maTTer whaT kind of person he is, no maTTer whaT color his skin happens To be, no maTTer whaT race or religion he belongs To, no maTTer how educaTed or uneducaTed he is. IT is even harder To undersTand ThaT each one Thinks ThaT he's seT aparT somehow from The resT-ThaT he is unique in some respecT. We have gone Through Tour years of high school preoccupied mainly wiTh one subiecT-ourselves! IT is only naTuraI ThaT we should Think ThaT way. Each man bases his relaTionship To oThers on his own reacTions and emofions. We have all Tried aT Times To make oThers love whaT we love. We have all desired oTher persons To believe whaT we have believed, To live according To our way oT Thinking. However, world condiTions Today are demonsTraTing The basic danger of This naTuraI Tailing, namely, ThaT when people iudge oThers by Their own sTandards They ineviTably hinder each oTher. All oT us have a greaT iob To Tackle, The iob of looking around us-of Tind- ing ouT all abouT oTher people, abouT how They live, whaT They believe in, why They are The same and also why They are di'FferenT, The iob of learning To undersTand Mr. Jones's likes and dislikes from Mr. Jones's poinT of view. A beTTer world in The TuTure can noT be insured unTiI we accomplish These Things. We musT overcome The idea ThaT The world is ours To lick and To TighT, To pursue our own aims and To worry abouT only our own inTeresTs. When people worry abouT' Themselves Too much, when They wish Too hard To rise above Their Tellows, and To be lauded and loved by Them, The resulT is chaos and everyone haTes everyone else. There is no need To FIGHT wiTh oTher people and LICK The world: The need is To DISCOVER oTher people and BUILD The world along wiTh Them.
