Faculty David Bullock Gerald Cates Bill Chaney Muncel Chang Science Mathematics English Social Studies The implementation of Proposition 13 on July 1, 1978 brought many changes to the Taft High School curriculum. The changes included the elimination of summer school and the reduction of many electives. The loss of the electives was due to the students having to take more solids during the school year, since they were unable to take them in summer school. Taft still offered a variety of classes in all the departments. Ken Chin Sandra Claman Mathematics Educationally Handicapped v -, i :msn-. .- :.:.'.,, . ,it,, . Students learned to converse with one another and express themselves in writing. In the Advanced Placement classes, there is the choice of a Literature class, where great works of literature are read, or a Language class, where the emphasis is placed on speaking the language. In either French, German or Spanish, students can be assured of an out- standing background in the language of their choice. C'est La Vie! Ach Du Liebe! Hasta La Vista! SNR
