Taft's Marching Band, made up of about eighty students, has participated in many school related activi- ties. They play at all football half-time shows, both at Taft and at other schools. The band is a major part of the spirit activities and pep rallies. This year, with the help of the Booster Club, they were working towards new uniforms. The Marching Band would like to thank the stu- dent body for all their support towards this goal. Marching Band MARCHING BAND. Front Row: Jan Swanke, Susan Gallagher, Melodie Sennewald, Gavin McCune. Drill Team Taft's Drill Team and Flag Team are an essential part of Taft High School. They symbolize the spirit at Taft and spread it throughout the school to the students and teachers. The members of both teams perform at pep rallies held at nutrition and lunch, and more importantly, star at the halftime shows at all the football games. The Drill Team and Flag Team meet everyday to learn and perfect their routines. The members of the Flag Team attended the Hibbards Flag Camp in August, and Taft was awarded a trophy for the hardest working Flag Team. In a schoolwide com- petition in December, they came in sixth place. To end their busy semester, the Flag Team and I . l Drill Team held a banquet where they honored CAPTAINS. Flag Team.
