Model United Nations, Co-Ed Bowling This is the freshman year for the Taft Model United Nations Club. The club members act as delegates from foreign coun- tries in Model United Nations. There, they divide into boy-girl teams and practice bowling and compete with others to improve their skills. At the conclusion of the year the members compete city-wide for tro- phies.

Statesmen Club cf: House Of Representative A brand new club at Taft, the Statesmen Club, con- sists ofthe more political- ly minded students. They meet and discuss the club's future. In an at- tempt to awaken political interest in students, they hold debates about major issues facing America. The House of Representa- tives is an organization at Taft that represents the entire student body. Stu- dents choose a represen- tative in their home room and those chosen act as a liaison between the stu- dents and cabinet. They try to solve problems that might arise and discuss new ideas for improving the school. This organiza- tion gives all the students the opportunity to be- come involved with what is going on at Taft. STATESMEN. 'f?YgL','VV H Av The Ski Club at Taft was established in 1964 and averages about 100 to 150 active members every year. The mem- bers of this club take about four trips a year to many resorts such as Mammoth and Lake Tahoe. I The faculty at Taft, as well as the students, are involved in the Ski Club. Joining this club is an excellent way to make friend- ships that may last long after graduation. The members of the community are supportive and regard Taft's Ski Club highly. It is one of the most active Ski Clubs in all of Southern California.
