Much of the credit went to the band officers which included Otto Weber - president, Debbie Hoffman - secretary, Judy Holmes - vice-president, Karla Weitknecht - treasurer, Lisa Hinkle - drum major, and the rest of the seniors who helped set the enthusiastic tone for the underclassmen. This year the band received many top honors. For the eighth consecutive year the band received a superior rating at the Dieruff Festival. ln addition to performing at this festival these marching musicians also performed at home basketball and football games, Super Sunday, and nationwide parades. In May, the band traveled to New York City where they competed in the Israeli Day Parade. As a culminating experience for the 4982 year the band took part in the one hundred and fourteenth commencement exercises,
