0 6530332033 0 HISTORY CLASS OF T946 The Class of I946 wull never forget uts hugh school days The past three wonderful years were packed wuth all the experuences whuch make school days excutung and worth rememberung When we entered A H S the world was at war wuth our country un the muddle of ut all Many of our boys left school then to uoun un the fight for vuctory and peace Although these boys cannot be graduated wuth us we shall always consuder them mates of 46 Our sophomore year was a busy one Each of us bore the burden of beung under classmen wuth grace and dugnuty secretly relushung the thought when we would be the upper clossmen As unexperuenced sophs we got unto the swung of thungs by presentung the most successful dance of the year The Lollupop Swung When we were not tryung to be on the honor roll we were supportung the war effort and every school actuvuty one hndred per cent In our uunuor year we became upper clossmen but we were stull one step behund the upper upper clossmen School lufe became less strange for we began to feel how the school operated and we operated wuth ut Our greatest socual success was the Junuor Prom even though ut fouled financually Our Jolu rol Dance made up for the money lost and our class play kept everyone un the ausles We thought we were good The most outstanding event un our uunuor year was earnung the State Basketball be at Conventuon Hall for the tutle game Our football team won the Bug I5 Conference tutle but we were never crowned because of the faulty pount system Durung our summer vacatuon the war was declared over Germany surrendered earluer and Japan followed soon after The world went wuld wuth uoy and reluef A new age was untroduced, the atomic age The atom bomb whuch us both a monster and a gugantuc accomplushment of scuentufic genuus us mouldung our future luves and the luves of future generatuons More was packed unto our senuor year to make ut the most unterestung of the three We won the football tutle and thus tume we were crowned Whule thus hustory was beung wrutten we were well on our way to wunnung the state basketball tutle agoun Our class also unaugurated the first A H S constututuon and student assocuatuon Many of us are contunuung wuth our education Some of our boys are enterung the servuces but most of us are enterung the world wuth confidence un the future never forgettung the grand days un A H S that prepared us for ut Counsellors were Muss Mary J Spence for gurls and Mr Russell J Knauss for boys Page Twenty five . - 'I I . . . .
