511455 67.9 WW Uf 1.9 Hello, Everybody! This is the history of the Senior Class of 1958. Igo back to the year 1945 when Fred Aguilar, DuWayne Christian, Joe Gonzales, Tom Harrison, Pete Lawson, Pat Rottman, Margaret Ann Simmons, and Kit Woods started the kindergarten under Mrs. Eikenberry's guidance. A bright and successful year that was, and with the production of the Three Bears , it became one to be remembered. The first grade came with the addition of Kathy Conklin, Charlene Crismon, Pat Rottman, Sherry Thompson, Walter Wien, Vergene Williams, and Bruce Wilson. Roger Gary and Wes Hinds joined the gang in the second grade, Alan Giles, Alfred Miranda, Wesley Moore and Carmy G. Page joined in the third. This group worked hard, often wondering if life wou1dn't be easier if all they had to do was to get up and go to work. Well, by now you're probably wondering where the rest came from. The years stood still until the fifth grade, which brought with it--why, only Sandra Tucker! Oh, she was a swell student! Coming with the sixth grade were Jack Desmond, Bill Karch and Jeanne Kelley, but arriving in the eighth to help end the grammar school years, was Mary Sue Belew. Ready for higher education, the class began the freshman year with the addition of Jerry Amalong, Myrna Joyce Bruncer, who left us for a while, Kareen Farnsworth, Judy Grantham, who also left but came back, Annette Lindsey, Richard Veck, and Mike Warren. Thinking nothing could be worse than Freshman initiation, they were now ready to start their sophomore year. The year began with two new students, Erlinda Gonzales and Lynn Tyler, Judy Morphis and Elaine E. Owen were added later in the yC3I'. Coming to help make the junior year a successful one, were Richard Davis, Ron Redding, and Casey Riggs, though the one thing that really made it successful was the booming sellout of the play, INNER WILLY. The most eventful and important year brought Martha Clause, LaVon M. Johnston, and Elizabeth H. Morris to complete the graduating group. The play, Finders Creepers , under the sponsorship of Miss DeWitt and Mr. Bowman went on smoothly, and the publication of the yearbook, THE ROUNDUP, was finished without a doubt. The Senior trip was one with many moments to remember, but then came graduation day and the class parted, leaving only a memory behind. As a class history, Ihave done my part. Now another type of history must take up these people's lives. So -long Erlinda Gonzales 09000 000000 o NX :Si 1 1

6'lf4.5'.5' PAUPHfZ'l' I was somewhat surprised on arriving at the Metropolitan Airport of Willcox, to find that in the past ten years it had grown to be the second largest city in the United States. The pilot of the plane, an old friend, Fred Aguilar, recommended the Riggs Hotel in a semi-quiet suburb of the city. I hardly expected seeing any of my old classmates, when Tom Harrison of Harrison, Warren and Moore, taxi service, pulled up. Man, what a ride! Rather shook, Idecided to walk to a quiet restaurant and later take in a movie. As I entered Redding's Kool Kitchen, I found anything but quiet. Yes, there in the center of the stage was Wilson's Woody Kittens. Wien, clarinet, Miranda, base, Page, trumpetg Woods atsax, and last, but loudest, Lindsey, the bango gal. Jean Kelley had consented to sing for a week during her vacation. She has taken Doris Day's place in Hollywood, After a rousing dinner, I entered Bill Karch's Popcorn Palace. I should have known better, for there on the screen was Shoot Em' Up, Elaine, starring Elaine Owen as the good guy and Jerry Amalong as the Bad guy. On the way back to the hotel I noticed a bright neon sign with D.D. V. Boo's Palaceg a three-way partnership, --Davis, Desmond and Veck. Iheard they had their own still and have put DuWayne Christian in business, viz., Christian Stomach Pump Company. After a long trip and a sleepless night, I made an appointment at the hotel beauty salon. I had a long talk with Erlinda Gonzales, hostess, about some of my fellow classmates. She said Mary Sue, a local society woman, is keeping Light and Bright handy, but one of her customers, Liz Morris, keeps insisting her own home remedy would do as much for anyone 's hair. To my surprise, suddenly She CIOSCG her H1OL1Ih. Why? In walked Sandra of the Daily Scratch, who was looking for tips for her gossip column. No wonder she clammed up for the very next day, there was news of Vergene 's secret marriage to her fourteenth husband and Pat's fourth set of triplets, --her first batch being twins. Fourteen was always a lucky number for our class. On my fourteenth try I patented the world renowned Kathy's Reducing Pills for Slender People. Alan Giles grew fourteen inches and became the world 's tallest man. For a change in pace before leaving the ol' stomping ground, I decided to attend Lawson and Grant- ham's Race Track. And whom do you suppose I met at the two-dollar window? None other than Margaret Simmons and her bookie, Kareen. There on the track was a new jockey, Ioe Gonzales, riding Short Stuff. Just before I was to leave for the airport, I tore my dress and not having time to fix it, I entered an elaborate style shop and there were two beautiful blondes, --Myrna and Martha. They married identical twins and decided to open a shop as a partnership. Their dresses were all designed by Charlene, a famous New York dress designer--my former classmate. On arriving at the airport, I was welcomed aboard by Sherry Thompson on Gary 's Putt-Putt. So ended my sojourn in the town of my school days. There I found many changes, but meeting again ma ny of my old high school classmates made the visit one which will be memorable for me. - -Kathy Conklin- -
