1 ln., An gg Dedication TO THE NEW ERA It is called the New Era because never before have there been so many and such important changes in one year A new and capable educator Dr William Potter came to carry on the work of Dr Getter Mr Edward Ege was elected to be the principal of our school Mr Ernest Bishop became the guidance counselor and Miss Reitz in addr tion to being dean of girls was named admmis new health teacher Miss Betty Grau and the new director of instrumental music Mr Richard Camp The outward appearance of W H S took on a new look after being cleaned and the Complete new lighting system which was installed was 1 great improvement The citizens of Wilkinsburg may be justly proud of the educational facilities offered to the youth of the community After many years of work final plans have been drawn this year for a complete modern Home Economics department Plans have also been made for a darkroom to serve the Annual photographers and the Photography Club This is a convenience which not many high schools have and we are our organization ln appreciation of these advantages which ex eryone has enjoyed this year and with gratitude for the fine contributions of the new admmistra tion the staff of the 1951 Annual dedncates this book to the New Era . . - , , , . , , . trative assistant.
