These blood-curclling noises were only the Annual staffers tearing their hair, grit- ting their teeth, and snarling at each other. But donit get the wrong impressiong the members wouldnit have missed the ordeal for anything! Under the capable direction of Miss Helen Heaz- lett and Miss Gwynne Mothersbaugh, the editors wracked their brains for ideas and wroteg the art staff slaved over layouts and panels, and the business staff handled the finances, each group endeavoring to make this book the best ever. Begun in 1926 by the employment of Mr. Richard lVlatson to train boys in the use of musical instruments, the band has since come under the director- ship of Mr. Paul Slater in 1928 and Mr. Scott in 1931. Last year new uniforms were pur- President . Student Leader chased through a campaign sponsored by the Activity Board, and today, bedecked in their school colors, the band is one of the respected organizations of the school.
