Ol DIVISICN Ol stands for operational intelligence. It is the duty of OI division personnel to evaluate and disseminate to the appropriate individuals, all information necessary to enable WILHOITE to carry out her as- signed mission. We collect this information through an impressive array of sensor equipment including surface search radar, air search radar, IFF C a device which enables us to identify a similarly equipped ship or airplane at great distancesl, ECM lequipment which enables us to gather in- formation concerning the location and characteristics of enemy electronic install- ationsi, and numerous communication cir- cuits, It is the full-time iob of our Elec- tronic Technicians to keep this gear operat- ing. Once the information is collected, it is all fed into the combat information center. Here our radarmen evaluate this conglom- eration of raw data. They must keep the Captain, Navigator, and Officer of the Deck completely informed at all times, and be ready to answer any question posed to them. yi . -nv 3 L ...r' A . ,C i an F- - X 4 K Norvelle, Fi, I., LTJG Huggins, C, E, ENS, OI Division Officer Electronic Maint, Off San Francisco, Calif, Grove, Oklahoma it .PFW Onofrey, D, J, vi0nOv1 Gurnee, Illinois C Burris, G.
