Miss Patricia Brewin helped the Class of 1982 to become one of the most successful classes in the history of Wildwood High School. Whenever our class wanted to take on an additional project, she agreed to help plan it and fight for approval of it. She also continued to advise us throughout the duration of the project, and encouraged us to make most of the decisions. Thus, she let us learn for ouselves how to be successful at our at- tempts. What's more, her spirit and friendly manner helped to make the hard work that we did as a class more enjoyable. In addition to being a math teacher and class advisor. Miss Brewin is a cheerleading advisor and the financial advisor for the school plays. We also appreciate her devo- tion to these positions. We sincerely thank “Breezely for her spirif and dedication and wish her much luck in the future. in the news . . . The world's first reusable space shuttle was shot into space in April. The world watched in amazement as “Colum- bia reentered the atmosphere and landed smoothly in the California de- sert. All the world rejoiced as England's Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer in what was termed the “wedding of the century. The glorious Pageantry was lea- vened by the humanness of the bride and her groom. 18 Egyptian president An- war Sadat was assasin- ated in October while re- viewing a military pa- rade. The shooting was carried out by four Mus- lim fanatics, who were dissatisfied with Sadat's pro-American policies. After recovering from the attempt on his life, President Reagan shocked the nation by attempting to install a new budget. “Reagano- mics included drastic budget cuts, particularly in the social services fields, and large increases in military spending. Libya's Colonel Kadafi continued to terrorize the world with his inflamma- tory remarks and aggressive policies. Lou Harry, Harold Ellingen, Scott Jett, and Frank Kalafski represented WHS on the televised Rutgers Bowl Trivia show. Wildwood High’s Class of 1982 was the first class to leave the coun- try for their senior class trip. HOW TO KNOW IF YOU ARE SURROUNDED BY TOURISTS AT THE BEACH: If a person's weight values are obviously more than 5 pounds, he is a tourist — Tourists often seem to move in at the beach bringing not only the things above but also their living room furniture, beds, and anything else imaginable If a person feeds a seagulls, he is a tourist — Why don’t the birds ever return the digested food to the feeder instead of an innocent bystander If a person continuously looks around pointing at seagulls, advertisement planes, boats, et. he is a tourist. If a person is ghostly pale, he is probably a tourist — Aren't they embarrassed to go to the beach? 62 9p|pUOD The Wildwoods is a unique place to live. The change of season here is more noticable than many other places 65 SR ... In the winter, approxi- mately 12,000 residents populate this quiet commu- nity. Students' social lives stem from school. There are few stores, restaurants, or other businesses open on the island. Overall, “the win- ter Wildwoods has a plac- id, small town atmosphere ... In the summer, on the other hand, the population swells with tourists. There are an abundance of summer businesses which provide both jobs and recreation for the locals, A beautiful beach and entertainment-packed boardwalk draw tourists from as far as Canada “The summer Wildwoods has an action-filled resort atmosphere ... 67 ... Some may pre- fer the peaceful winter atmosphere, while others enjoy the excitement of the summer.
