To whom, can we the Class of 75 say thanks?” Although there are many who deserve our gratitude, this class would like pay a special tribute to Mr. Robert Fierro. Mr. Fierro is respected both as a teacher and as a man. Because he is so well informed, his classroom discussions arc not only educational but gratifying. While his classes are demanding academically, his students value the knowl- edge they gain. The benefits from such hard work result in a more practical and realistic attitude toward the problems of society. In addition to teaching history, Mr. Fierro extends interest in his students beyond the classroom. Concerned with the student’s direction in life, he is always available for individual guidance. Also he can often be found captivat- ing students with his scrupulous conversations of basic, logical reasoning; accompanied by human wit. Above all, Mr. Fierro is a listener who is open-minded to the views of the students. He encourages them to express their opinions and allows them to think as individuals. The students arc not classed, numbered, or stereotyped by him, but rather he acts as an open-minded adult by accepting each as an indi- vidual. Because of his interest in what the students have to say he immediately gains the respect of all. These qualities mold into a character whom we all can appreciate. You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of your- self that you truly give.” Mr. Fierro has truly given of himself. For this reason, by vox populi,” Mr. Fierro has been chosen as the teacher to whom we show our gratification. We hope, Mr. Fierro, that you too have gained by our indi- vidualism which you helped form. T W E W o N 0 R E D Thank you!
