The 1971 Islander is a left-wing, middle-of-the-road yearbook having tendencies to lean towards conservative liberalism. Yielding to the whims and wishes of the student body, we have tried to please everyone. This year the Islander '71 staff is proud to announce that the senior directories are under the senior pictures. The nucleus of the staff, who spent back-breaking hours missing their deadlines, hopes that you will appreciate the conscientious effort, the long hours, and the strenuous work that most of the members of the staff have put into this book. Now that you, the underclassmen, have been swindled for §6. here are some of the people who deserve recognition: Mr. Frank Caterini for his vast knowledge and all the moral support Mr. Stewart Hartman for the time he spent, jokes he wasted, and humorous stories con- cocted Mr. Robert Herbert for allowing his first and sixth period classes to do our typing The girls in Mr. Herbert’s first and sixth period classes for the typing they did Gene Miglio and his staff for supplying us with needed pictures Debbie Reuter for doing our dirty work in correspondence President Nixon for keeping the inflation under control so as to keep the price of our book at S6 The Board of Education for the new shades on the windows in the yearbook room Most of the faculty for letting us take their pictures Mr. Motz for helping us raise money for the book The Nucleus of the Staff Gail Bartlett Andy Storms Charles Kuski John Richards
