The World enjoyed watching the great Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Our new President and Pope John Paul II both were targets of assassination attempts. More tragic still, peace-advocate Anwar Sadat was killed. On the lighter side, freaked out New Wave fashions came overseas from England, and we were all very proud when Wilby re- ceived a ten year accreditation! The year ended as we said goodbye to our beloved Principal, Mr. Coviello. 6 lntroduction

This year there was a new program offered to freshmen: Vocational Agriculture. Our Home- coming had a western theme and many of us enjoyed getting out our cowboy” costumes. We finally felt a part of Wilby and felt impor- tant being able to look down on the lowly freshmen. The Drama Club's play was The Music Man and was a great hit. Introduction ?

Once again the Wilby doors were open to us. We were very proud as we walked into our Junior year with the thought that we were upper classmen. The year started off strong under the admin- istration of our new Principal, Mr. Leonardi. It began with the election of our Junior Class Officers. Julie Crespo was our President. Sam Bowens was elected Vice-President. Marty Duffany and Dennis Arroyo were Recorder and Treasurer. They did a great job, along with our Advisors, Miss Tomasello and Miss Zibell, get- ting the class on our feet. We were all excited as we received our ring packets and began choos- ing our class rings. Introduction ?
