Some of us are happy because we ' ve accomplished a lot. Some of us are sad because it may mean separation from people we ' ve grown to love and some of us are afraid because where we go is up to us now. What will you take with you when you leave tonight? Smiles, laughter, jokes, favorite places, cruising routes, friend ' s smiles? Dreams perhaps. For we are a class of dreams. Wasn ' t it only yesterday when they told us as sophomores that we had to build a float? So we came up with Cream of Kent and lost. Only yesterday a small group of scared juniors waited backstage for the houselights to dim and Trilogy of 76 to begin its opening night. It seems like only yesterday that we said goodbye to the class of 75 at the annual Junior- Senior Banquet. Learn from yesterday we say. We learned so well that we won the float competition for the next two years with Rock onto Victory and Hats off to Victory as the titles for our floats. Many of those same scared juniors returned to the stage to make our senior class play: Ask Any Girl , a huge success. Our fund raising activties were so well supported and successful that by the end of our junior year we had enough money to pay for our prom. Our prom-a dreamer ' s paradise. From the theme Dream On to our colors, sky blue and silver. Light and airy as only the colors of a dream can be. And now it is today. Will you remember it the way it should be remembered? Open your eyes and look to remember for you may never see this place again. Open your ears to remember the sound about you. For there may come a day when these sounds are made no more. Open all your senses to remember and keep a place in your mind for these memories. For many a day will come when these memories are all that color your thoughts. Time flows on but that will not matter as long as you have these memories of days of contentment, happiness, and love. Stop and look around you at the faces of the people you have worked with, fought with, partied with, and cared for. Remember this moment for someday our children may see a movie about this era or hold a dance and dress the way we do now and say Wow, you all had so much fun back then, I wish I had been in the Class of 76 . The class was so eager to begin, that we held a meeting before school started in September, We discussed money making projects for the year, and plans for our Homecoming float. The first big project for the Juniors, along with the other classes, was to build the Homecoming float. We de¬ cided to stick to the Bicenten¬ nial theme with Electrocute Queen Anne ' s. Benjamin Franklin was the main figure on our float. We used red, white, and blue paper flowers to form 1976 on one side of the float and 1776 on the other. Some of the class members put a lot of their time, money, and effort into building our float. Even though we did not have the winning float, we had a lot of fun building it and are hoping for a victory next year. The Juniors had a large num¬ ber of money making projects throughout the year. We held the usual bake sales and car washes, but we also had a few successful doughnut sales and a tube sock sale. The Junior class was in a turmoil for a few weeks in February and March because our class president, Donna White resigned her position and we had to have a re-elec¬ tion. Teresa Carter was elected our president for the remainder of the year, and with her leadership we got things back on the right track. One week in April was called Jr. 50 £ Days and all Jun¬ iors were asked to donate 50 to boost the treasury. We also had a Tablecolth Sign-Up when all Juniors had the opportunity to sign their names to the cloth after pay¬ ing 50 £. We plan to use this tablecloth’ next year at our Jr. Sr. Banquet and Prom, and at our future class re¬ unions. In April we gave the annual banquet for the Seniors. The theme of the banquet was Spirit of ’76 because of the Bicentennial. Almost three hundred Juniors and Seniors attended the banquet, making this one of the most success¬ ful banquets in years. A few Juniors really showed their devotion to the class by helping to clean up after the prom. These few Juniors and our advisors went out in the early hours of the morning to clean up the Civic Center. The final Junior Class meet¬ ing was held on May 26, 1976. Our class President, Teresa Carter gave closing remarks for the year and welcomed in next year ' s officers. The Junior Class presented gifts to Teresa, and to our advi¬ sors Mrs. Mowen and Mr. Roberts. We discussed plans for our Senior year with the hope that it will be our best year ever. Students who ran for offices first competed in a primary election. Sophomore Class officers selected were Pam Mears, president; Joy Morris, vice-president; Lisa Moreno, secretary; and Sharon Babcock, treasurer. STARTING FROM SCRATCH We arrived at Wi-hi and were almost immediately confronted with building a float for Homecoming. Having absolutely zilch in our account, we had to start with money-raising activities, such as bake sales and shoe shines. We were re¬ warded for all our hard work with a lloat that placed second in the Homecoming parade. SOPHOMORE BEAUTIES The Sophomore Class was represented by two beautiful young ladies in the Homecoming court. The two Pam Mears and Pam Fennell were selected by the rest of our class. Miss Mears serves as Class president and Miss Fennell is Class historian. NEWCOMERS PLACE SECOND The Class of 76 chose The Indians are Coming as the theme for our Homecoming float. After careful deliberations at several class meetings, we decided to build a horse with Paul Revere riding it. A few hard-working sophs with lots of school spirit gathered frequently and made the separate parts at Steve Smith ' s house. They were finally assembled at the home of Bryan Miles. Our class was just as proud as the seniors when we, as beginners, claimed second prize above the Juniors. SOPHOMORE CLASS ON THE GO Our female class officers kept very busy all year. President Pam Mears supervised the construction of our Homecoming float. She also organized several bake sales, shoe shines, and a car wash to raise money for our treasury. We sold pom-poms at the Bennett game in November and at the Superstars Com¬ petition in April. Joy Morris, as vice-president, helped Pam with fund-raising projects and other class activities. Class secretary Lisa Moreno took minutes at all meetings and was in charge of all class correspondence. As treasurer, Sharon Babcock kept a close record of all expenses and worked with fund-raising activities. ARBY ' S COUPONS SOLD In December, January, and February, the Sophomore Class sold Arby ' s Coupon Booklets to people in the school and com¬ munity. The booklets contained coupons worth $10, but cost only 504:. Sharon Babcock headed the drive, which netted about $350 for the class. Approximately 1, 500 booklets were sold. TWO SOPHS WIN S.G.A. POSTS For the first time in quite a few years the Student Government Association of Wi-Hi will have two Junior Officers. The two, Sharon Babcock, and Bryan Miles, were chosen as 1976-77 S.G.A. officers in elections during April. Sharon, as Second-Vice President, will take charge of all S.G.A. social and community projects. She served on five S.G.A. committees this year in addition to performing her duties as Sophomore Class Treasurer. Bryan will serve as S.G.A. Treasurer. He worked on seven Student Government projects this year—more than any other student in the school! With this distinction, he should be well-prepared for his duties next year. SOPHOMORES HEAD S.G.A. FLOAT When the S.G.A. defeated a notion to enter a bicentennial float in the VFW Loyalty Day Parade, Kathy Fferrand and other sophomores took up the cause. They moved to reconsider the decision at the next meeting and succeeded in having $200 appropriated for construction of a float. Kathy and her com¬ mittee of 16 sophmores, 2 freshmen, 5 juniors and 2 seniors began work almost immediately on a re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party, featuring 3 live Wi-Hi Indians. Those sophomores who helped to make the float a success were: Tim Bowden, Danny Bradley, Juanita Davenport, Winston Elliott, Steve Godfrey, Ronnie Hall, Ginger Kinnamon, Jeri Martin, Lori Nagel, Brenda Powell, Jenni Seidel, Bill Simpkins, Linda Smith, Mark Vollmer, Kim Webster, and Mike Webster. When doors opened this last fall, upperclassmen were start led to see us arrive with the sopho¬ mores. We have made a place for ourselves during this year, and we feel we have con¬ tributed more than quantity. WI-HI ' S FIRST FRESHMAN OFFICERS After a special election held Sept. 9, we were proud to present the officers of the class of ' 79. They did a remarkable job. We feel they are to be commended highly. Molly McGinty head the class as president. She heads all the class projects and presides over the class meetings. Vice-President Jeri McDaniels has few duties, but those she does have are very important. Jeri is always at work planning new activities, and advising the president when needed. Jeri is also a member of the field hockey team, a cheerleader, and a member of the Ways and Mean Committee. Responsible for all finances, Laurie Haslem serves the class as treasurer. Laurie was also a freshman attendant in the Homecoming Court. Acting as secretary for the class is Cindy LaBounty. She sees to all class correspond¬ ence and keeps minutes of all meetings. Cindy was also a member of the Homecoming Court. FRESHMAN BUILD FLOAT This year ' s freshman class got well under¬ way by entering a float in the Homecoming parade held Saturday, October 4. After a slow start, the freshman caught up, with the theme Betsy Ross Sews a Victory for Wi-Hi . It depicted Betsy sewing a Wi-Hi football jersey, on a float driven by Mr. Thomas Smith, one of the class advisors. Both of the advisors, Mr. Smith and Mr. Long, were very enthusiastic in helping the freshman with their project and an inspiration through the year for the Class of ’79. FABULOUS FRESHMAN FUDGE Anyone who didn’t buy some of that fabu¬ lous freshman fudge really missed some¬ thing. The fudge sale, sponsored by the Class of 79, was held November 5 in both the bus and student parking lots. Featured was the fabulous fudge in four flavors: vanil¬ la, peanut butter, chocolate, and chocolate with nuts. According to President Molly McGinty, the sale went very well. The Class of 79 made approximately $39.00 profitfrom their hour sale. 97 Our greasy office staff. Mr. T angren lets us know Don’t look so shocked, Mr. Smith! I trust that those experiences have met your individual needs and in the future years you will look back with fondness on your student days at Wi-Hi. If I could leave you with but three thoughts those thoughts would be to work hard, to per¬ severe and to cultivate a positive attitude. It is my belief that these three things are basic ingredients to a happy and fulfilling life. As you enter the adult world it is my sincere hope that each of you will find happiness and fulfillment in your individual endeavors. I will look forward to seeing you in the ensuing years. May your hopes and dreams come true. With warmest remembrance, Robert D. Evans Principal 102 To The Class of ' 76: One great gift of education is that it gives you the ambition to dream, to ana¬ lyze, to plan, and to work for a better and happier life. Now the most fascinating subject of your thoughts is the future. May your fu¬ ture be as bright as you deserve and may you become good, worthwhile citizens. Please add my warmest congratulations to the large chorus of friends acclaiming your graduation. Be prepared to face the future with determination to prove that you can make those moral and social adjust¬ ments which will make you worthy citizens in our society. By having faith, endurance, and a sincere desire to excel, surely suc¬ cess will be yours. Sincerely, W. Franklin Waller Vice Principal Dear Seniors: - ■ You have crossed the threshold of the future. The battle has been won but the last victory celebration is yet to come. The future is yours for the taking only if you have planned well and prepared yourself in a responsible way. I can only hope that you have set high standards in reaching out to achieve your individual goals. You and your parents have much for which to be proud at this stage of your life. The example you have set will be difficult to follow. I appreciate this opportunity to extend to you, collectively and individually, best wished in your pursuits. Sincerely yours. Bill R. Hensley Vice-Principal 103 Our school is a good one. Seniors graduating from Wi-Hi can compete well in anything they do. I wish them well, and encourage underclassmen to strive to do as well as their predecessors. It ' s worth your time and effort to prepare for the rest of your lives. Mrs. Marion Williams Guidance Counselor I congratulate the seniors on their success in com¬ pleting high school. In addition, I would urge under¬ classmen to work toward a successful termination of their high school years. Remember, though, that academics are only a part of your lives. Activities and clubs are important, too. Mrs. Flora Daniels Guidance Counselor As the only member of the faculty who has served at Wicomico Senior High continuously since the school opened in its present location in September 1954, I urge all Wi Hi students to work to uphold the reputa¬ tion of our institution and to share the benefits of the heritage their Alma Mater offers. David Trice--Treasurer Bill Dize--Parliamentarian Brenda Martin--Vice President There was a state convention that was held here for the first time. The con¬ vention involved competition in trade fields. There were five Wi-Hi winners: Jody Fields, Bobbie Carstens, Danny Holyfield, Jan Mills, and Wilhelmina Parker. David Trice was chosen as a delegate to the national convention to be held in Miami Beach, Florida, in June of this year. VICA at work A.F.S. Clubs and the $1038 worth of pledges was divided among the three clubs to finance A.F.S. programs. Johnny Williams (Psota) and his daughter Josie served as emcees, introducing A.F. S. exchange students staying in the Delmarva area, along with the many guests and performers. 122 DEC A Scores High! This year the Wicomico Deca Chater was the finest ever. To start the year off right the Wi-Hi Chapter raised 2,500.00 dollars by having many fund raising events. These funds were for both regional and state conventions in which the Wi-Hi Chapter took its share in the trophies. Our first place winnings in Student of the Year--Tam¬ my Tucker, Window Display--Becky Merrill, and Merit Chapter Terri Alexander at the State Convention got us three people to go to the National Convention in Chicago. The Wi-Hi Chapter had a softball game with Bennett (Wi-Hi won 15- 3), bowling match with Parkside (Wi-Hi won with most points), and we visited the Holy Center. The Wicomico Chapter owes all its success this year to one man and that is Mr. Vernon Giffin our co-ordinator; without him we couldn ' t have gotten where we are now. Varsity Football Team Makes Good The Indians finished the 1975 season with a dramatic come from behind victory over cross town rival, James M. Who?. The 19-14 victory concluded a fine 6-3 year. This is a start of a winning era here at Wi-Hi. Gary Taylor was a standout for the Indians. He received the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year in the Bayside Conference and the team’s MVP. Steve Easley finished second in the Bayside Conference in scoring. Gary Tay¬ lor, Steve Easley, Tom Berry, Alan Parker, and Marcel Hayes were all selected for the Bayside Conference team. Congratulations to this fine football team. It is noted that this team never gave up once and didn’t go down to defeat without a fight first. The enthusiasm of the team and the fans was fantastic! This should also be noted because a good team doesn’t go far without the support of the fans. 125 „ Go, Jayvees, Go! The junior varsity team finished with a 5-3 record. This was a very impressive season for the sophomores and for the coaching staff. These players will be playing varsity next season as will the opponents they faced this year. This is bright hope for the fu¬ ture of a powerful system here at Wi-Hi. The team climaxed their season with a respectable win over Bennett with a 29-3 score-. The Homecoming festivities began on Friday with a Pep Rally at the stadium. Being outside produced a lot of spirit and really got the enthusiasm running high. During the Rally the winners of the club banner contest and the football raffle were announced. The Ecology Club captured first place in the banner contest and the Band fol¬ lowed with second place. Winners of the football raffle were Freshman Jackie Moreno, Sophomore Jenni Seidel, Junior Penny Turner and Senior Susan Webster. The Junior Varsity and Varsity cheerleaders then turned back the clock to the turn of the century to form a car, with Clem (Janet Weatherly) in the driver’s seat but with strong backseat driving from his wife (Susan Williams). Suffering through Clem’s driving and a flat tire they finally made it to Wi Hi’s Homecoming parade but not without Clem whispering a nasty nothing” in his wife’s ear! The football team then invaded the field for a finale composed of their own special cheers. Saturday dawned bright and beautiful and by noon things were really rolling. The parade formed at St. Francis de Sales parking lot, where the judging of the parade entries also took place. During the pre¬ game festivities it was announced that the Indian Chant had won the club float prize with their slogan Tame Those Lions . The Class of ' 76 repeated their slogan year victory with this year ' s winning class float Hats Off to Victory . Miss Janet Weatherly was crowned the 1974 Homecoming Queen. Saturday evening at Disco 76 , everyone gathered to cele¬ brate the Indians 53-6 victory. Guides were appointed to assist the freshmen and sophomores with their questions. Concession stands, staffed by student volunteers, were open at our home football games, provid¬ ing a major source of funds for the organization. Wi Hi ' s first afternoon Homecoming, on Saturday, October 4, was the next project. Chairpersons Lisa Wimbrow and David Overbeck oversaw the parade and other festivities, while Karen Gilbert and her Dance Committee produced a success¬ ful Disco 76 that night. The Student Lunch Area was con¬ structed in November. It was used only a few days in the fall but was really enjoyed during warm spring weather. Murals painted by the Art Club were added in the spring, along with a commemorative sign. On December 10, S.G.A. officers and Exchange Chairman Hank Seidel participated in the first of six exchanges between Wi Hi, Bennett, and Park- side students. The Third Annual Wi Hi Christmas land, spon¬ sored in conjunction with the P.T.A., opened two weeks before Christmas and proved to be another big fund-raiser. Wi Hi had a Valentine ' s Dance with a band for the first time in many years this year. The highlight of the evening was the coronation of Tom Berry as King of Hearts. Four students and advisor Mr. Dragwa represented Wi Hi at the 30th Annu¬ al Spring Convention of the Maryland Association of Student Councils in Baltimore in April. This was the first year in quite a while that the S.G.A. had voted to join the M.A.S.C., but the conclusion was that it wasn ' t really worth the time and money it cost to join. On the 24th of April, the Student Government sponsored another first—a competition between county high schools in ten events test¬ ing such abilities as racing a tandem bike, tossing a raw egg, and rolling a log. Superstars Chairman Mike Dunn in¬ troduced Salisbury Mayor Elmer F. Ruark to open the Com¬ petition. Wicomico County Superintendent Harold Fulton presented the champs trophy to Wi Hi Team Captain Bobby Dunn at the end. This new idea proved to be an enormous success, judging from the enthusiasm of the spectators and from the $200 profit the S.G.A. made. Greaser Day activi¬ ties, coordinated by Penny Turner, generated spirit and a lot of laughs on May 13, the date of our second baseball game of the season against Bennett. Projects included jitter¬ bug demonstrations on the cafeteria stage during lunch, a Mr. Cool competition, and the Fonzie for a Day contest at the game. Other projects of the year included amending the S.G.A. Constitution, buying a full-page ad in the TOM-TOM, having the Media Center courtyard fence re¬ paired, and sending a student representative to several Wi¬ comico County Board of Education meetings. In addition to school activities, the Student Government sponsored a number of community projects this year. Over 300 toys and 400 cans of food were collected for the Salva¬ tion Army in a Christmas drive headed by Cheryl Hagen. The S.G.A. and the Keyettes jointly sponsored both a Christmas and a Valentine ' s party at the Wicomico School for Retarded Children. Cheryl Powell ' s enthusiastic com¬ mittee devoted much time and thought to making these parties successful. Wi Hi was well represented in the VFW Loyalty Day Parade on Mav 2, with a float constructed by Kathy Ferrand ' s Committee. The entry, a re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party featuring three live Wi Hi Indians, was entitled Indians Make Things Happen. The S.G.A. enlisted 49 chaperones for the annual Special Olympics for Retarded Children in May and distributed registration forms for the March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon. A needy family in the Salisbury area was aided through the Salvation Army by a monthly check, a project carried over from the 1974-75 S.G. A, S.G.A. representatives, alternates, advisors, and helpers celebrated the end of a successful year with a barbecue at Assateaque Island on June 6, a project organized jointly by the 1975-76 officers and the newly-elected officers for next year. AMERICAN FIELD SERVICE CLUB The A.F.S. club began the year by welcoming friendly ex¬ change student Catharina Charlie Melin from Sweden with a tea after school and a barbecue at Dixie Lawrence ' s home. A unique type of car wash was the first fund-raiser, when Mr. Bob Lawrence agreed to donate 754: to A.F.S. for each car washed at his business one Thursday. The $83 didn ' t come without some work however; club members ad¬ vertised the event in advance and paraded with sandwich signs along Route 13 to attract customers. Next, a banner depicting international cooperation represented A.F.S. in the Homecoming Banner Contest. Later in the fall, recipes were collected for an International Cookbook to be pub¬ lished next year. A Swedish-style Christmas party given at the John B. Parsons Home for the Aged was enjoyed greatly by the residents. And it will be a long time before club members forget dancing around the Christmas tree, doing a Santa Lucia procession, and having their gingerbread houses fall apart! Early in January, a party was given to welcome Josie Psota, a 1975 Wi Hi graduate, back after a year as an A.F.S. Americans Abroad student in South Africj The club then began working on plans for the Third Annual A.F.S. Cablethon. After more than two months of weekly meetings with co-sponsors at Bennett and Parkside, the April 2nd event went smoothly, bringing pledges for $1084. Later in April, eight Wi Hi students spent a week with families in Larchmont, New York, on the A.F.S. Short Term Exchange Program. Their Larchmont hosts returned with them to spend a week attending school here and learn¬ ing about the community. This was the first such exchange for Salisbury A.F.S. but it is hoped it will become an annual project. Members met in May to replace 1975-76 officers.—President Carol Dunahoo, Vice Presidents Kevin Pobst and Sharon Tetlow, and Secretary-Treasurer Dixie Lawrence—with officers for next year. At the end of school came the saddest activity .of the year, a farewell tea for Charlie , who had truly been an asset to Wi Hi and will really be missed by her many friends here. KEYETTES Keyettes ' biggest success was the male auction. They made about $350. With this money they hope to help people, clubs, and committees inside and outside of school. They also put a stand up for Christmasland. Various Keyette members made baked goods and hot chocolate to sell. Christmas balls and other tree ornaments were also for sale. Other activities that the Keyettes did were, serving at ban¬ quets, fixing a Thanksgiving basket for a family, giving parties for Emerson Avenue School for the Retarded, (Christ¬ mas G Valentine ' s Day) and helping anyone who ask for them. They also made a Homecoming Float. CONCERT CHOIR The 1975-76 Concert Choir started off their year in need of male voices. After fullfilling this, the choir started their money raisers to buy new outfits. W e were admitted to the SGA as a club. In October, Connie Ennis, Warren Lankford, Ben Dashiell, and Kevin Pobst represented Wi-Hi at All State Choir in Baltimore. After a busy Christmas season, we started learning Spring Music. We were proud to be chosen as the Bicentennial Pageant Choir for Wicomico County. TOM-TOM This year the Tom-Tom got off to a booming start. The 1975 yearbooks were distributed in early September; and subscriptions to the 1976 yearbook soon followed. Sales were high, but pictures were scarce. So, the staff stayed alive by drinking cokes, and eating doughnut holes after rushing for days on end to meet the deadlines. The trip to Dover was on a Wednesday, and those who went had a good time. The window that was periodically broken into was a different story all together. But all-in-all, the Tom-Tom staff had much fun working together for the best yearbook ever. 178 SPANISH CLUB This yearns Spanish Club joined with Parkside ' s Club in order to plan and carry out more activities throughout the year. Officers this year were Toni Lilliston, president; Marian Singh, vice president; and Marty Hoppes, secretary-treasurer. Returning as the club advisor for Wi Hi was Mrs. Leticia Parker. Many fund raisers such as bake sales, car washes, and cake sales were planned in order to go on a field trip to Washington, D.C. on May 14th. The club has been very successful in all its activi¬ ties, and hopes to have the same support in following years. WI HI NEWS Wi Hi News has a new advisor this year, Mrs. Martha Nutter. Under her supervision the Wi Hi News produced the first Dinner Theater, in cooperation with the Drama II students, for Wi Hi. A new type of paper was adopted, many new materials bought, and a new printing company hired. It was a very suc¬ cessful year. LATIN CLUB The Latin club has a new advisor the year, Mrs. Ruth McClung. For the first Lime the Latin students had a chance to obtain membership in the Junior Classical League which is sponsored by the American Classical League. Some activities this year have been bake sales, candle sales, and entering a banner in the Homecoming banner contest. INDIAN CHANT The Indian Chant got off to a new start with new ideas. It was the first year the literary magazine has increased its size, in¬ cluded photographs, and used a spiral binding. The year started out with a winning Homecoming entry. Fund raisers were held during the year. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY On May 5, 1975 forty-one members of the class of 1976, along with eight members of the class of 1975 were inducted into the National Honor Society during a ceremony performed by the officers and members of the Honor Society of Wicomico Senior High. The new members of the Honor Society soon attended their first meeting at which officers for the 1975-76 school year were elected. Sam Vincent was elected President; Shirley Keen, Vice-President; Talana Everett, Secretary; Ferda Guzey, Treasurer, and Debby Ruark, Historian. During the year some of the members of the Honor Society- tutored those students who sought help in a variety of subjects. Any student needing help had the opportunity to have a mem¬ ber meet with him during his study hall. Much of the work of the Honor Society centered around the Induction ceremony for the spring, and extensive plans were made by themembers and Mrs. Cherry, the advisor. Plans included admitting sophomores as well as juniors and seniors who met the requirements for membership. The members voted to raise the standards for a minimum grade average from a B to a 3 .4 point average. On April 5, 1976 nineteen sophomores, seventeen juniors and one senior were inducted into the National Honor Society. VARSITY CLUB The Varsity Club is an organization for athletes that have earned a varsity letter. The purpose of the club is to give the athletes satisfaction of having played a sport here at Wi-Hi. We sold Varsity Club jackets (those having earned a letter), team pictures and individual pictures, and conducted other money raising activities. Our goal is to supply the teams here at Wi-Hi with all the necessary equipment for ALL sports. THESPIANS This years International Thespian Troupe 157 got started late this year with admission oi new members in late winter. This increased our membership greatly. Elections were held and we helped at the A.F,S. Cablethon. Thespians this year did not put on a production itself, but many members all participated in various productions. The whole world is a stage and the people are its actors. VARSITY CHEERLEADERS The Varsity Cheerleaders cheered for Varsity football, basket¬ ball, soccer, and a new dimension to cheering was bat girls. This outstanding squad promoted spirit and enthusiasm at the games, and especially pep rallies. The first pep rally was for Homecoming. This was the first pep rally ever held in the stadium. We ' ll always remember Clem and Clarice trying to get to the Homecoming game with a flat tire. The second pep rally for the Bennett vs. Wi-Hi football game was also held outside in the stadium. The final pep rally of the year was held for the basketball team, on their way to the district tournament. The squad made new uniforms for basketball season. AV STAFF The Av Staff was a new club under Miss Flory ' s directions. It meant running all sorts of equipment to the rooms, projectors, extension cords, bulb replacement, and screens. Randy Haney and Gary Naarup took care of fixing machines that broke down, so little time was lost in teacher ' s without equipment. Pre¬ pared materials for teachers throughout the county on cassette. Set up speakers for court yard, basketball and baseball games. Av staff participated in moving Day. All AV equipment was renumbered with different colored paint. CAMPUS PRODUCTION Video-tape club of Wicomico Senior High School tapes home sports events, football, basketball, baseball, and track. This year the club taped band competition, children ' s theater, Senior class play, outside speakers, and Student teachers. Kevin Pobst designed the Campus Production symbol for all video-taped productions as well as the jackets the club uses. Kevin Bob built a model of Independence Hall and filmed it for Satire on America . Balloon Ascension raised funds for the club at the Superstar Competition. Two groups worked on Super 8 films for the film festival Bob Kovacic ' s The Courtin and George Malone, Ricky Parsons, Eddie Parsons, Marie Georgio ' s Dracula ' s Last Stand . MEDIA CLUB The media club ' s main function is to help in the running of the Media Center. This meant circulation of books media, pro¬ cessing new materials, weeding the collection, and typing cards when needed. Preparing materials for showcases, including Bob ' s aquariums with real fish. Bill ' s Bicentenial showcase with the flag hand stapled by many members. Kevin designed the Bicentennial ceiling with balloons for the fireplace area. Jeff Holloway prepared a large scrapbook of Wi-Hi activities events from newspaper. Skip designed the cover. Skip Lylliston presented Media Center a blueprint map he made of the new entrance to the Media Center. They also made costumes for campus productions. 179 D. H.G. Business Education D.H.G.
