JESS G' STILE5, Midwestern Un1vers1ty Coach of Athletics SOCIAL STUDIES The Department of Social Studies endows each student in WF SH with a thorough knowledge of the history of our world, which, in itself, is merely a recollection of past occurrences. Courses in American history, world history and Texas history aid the students in their quest for knowledge of human affairs. Civics, a course in the govern- ment of our country, dwells on the jobs done by our local, state and federal repre- sentatives. Viewing in retrospect the work of our governmental leaders and the sacrifices made by our forefathers is invaluable to the future leaders of our country in their attempts to form a more just society. The department dwells not only on the study of the language itself, but strives to present to every student an insight into the cultures, customs and governments of these countries.
