Joan Glezen Head Majorette Senior Band SENIOR HIGH BAND Senior High Band, besides supplying mu- sical entertainment at various events, also helps to train students to perform in an instrumental music group, provid- ing additional school spirit while giv- ing its members an opportunity for a ba- sic musical education. The band per- formed at all home football games, at the opening ceremonies of the new Route 81 and for the Halloween Parade at the C. E. Adams School. They supplied en- tertainment at the Senior Play, and fur- nished part of the music performance at the Dedication of the new Senior High Building. Their final public appearance of the year will be at the graduation ceremonies in June.

HGunnar, you do know the keyboardfn EXCHANGE STUDENT This year the Whitney Point Senior High School students were very happy to welcome Carl Gunnar Friman of Boras, Sweden, as this year's Rotary Exchange Student. During his stay, which lasted from August 1968 to July 1969, Gunnar had stayed with eight local families. Born November 28, 1950, Gunnar is the third of four children. While here, he has enjoyed both his academic and soctd life a great deal. His interests range from golf and skiing to McDonald's fast service. After the completion of his visit, he plans to complete his remain- ing year of high school and go on to a college. Tvvirlers TWIRLERS The Twirlers under the leadership of Majorettes Joan Glezen and Debbie Soro- chinsky, marched with the Senior High Band in the Memorial Day Parade, and helped with half time entertainment at football games. Several of the girls also entertained with solo and dual routines at basketball games. The Twirl- ing group helps its members to develop poise and personality as well as coord- ination through cooperation and group Color' Guard COLOR GUARD The Color Guard presents the United States and school flags at all home bas- ketball and football games. They marched in the Memorial Day Parade and displayed a new gold Band Flag in addition to the other two flags.
