Vocational Office Education Offers on-the-job Training Vocational Office Education is a two year course designed for juniors and seniors interested in office skills. Junior lab is a two-hour class devoted to learning the basic skills in accounting, filing, office machines, printing and dictation equipment: and enhancing skills in typing, English, and business math. Senior coop is a one-hour class with a three hour actual on-the-job training. They participated in various activities this year: September, selling banners, get acquainted din- ner, installation of officers: October, initiation of new members, OEA shirts, Hall party, November, Senior turkey dinner: December, Secret Angel and Christmas party: January, Junior lab open house: February, Area contests, Waxahachie: April, State contests in Austin. Students Volunteer Services in Office The office help is recruited from stu- dents in study hall. Their duties include answering the phone, taking messages, collecting absentee slips, checking roll, and running errands. The students are expected to be dependable, responsible, and maintain confidentiality about office matters. These students work under the supervision of Mr. Hagan, Mr. Nichols and Mrs. Wood. A. Clndy Jones takes phone messages. B. John Spencer is responsible for checking roll sixth period. C. Richard Max- well keeps the marquee up to date, D. Regina Fielding col- lects absentee slips during first period. E. Leslie Wiley listen- ing intently to a phone call from Mr. Nichols. F.
