1980 Homecoming Atlraots 3000 Fans For the 3000 fans attending, Homecom- ing 1980 will always be remembered for many reasons. Not only was the White- house-West Rusk game the first home game, but it was also the first game played in the new stadium. Another memorable aspect of Homecoming 1980 is the bonfire. This is always a highlight of the year. Stu- dents work for days collecting materials for the bonfire. This year the original bonfire was burned. However, the second bonfire, led by the cheerleaders, band, drill team, and majorettes, proved to be bigger and better than the first. The pep rally is always an exciting part of homecoming. Ex-stu- dents begin arriving on campus to partici- pate in the spirited festivities in the gym. Signs, ribbons, banners, and the football players are an integral part of homecoming. These things, along with the 7-3 victory over West Rusk, made Homecoming 1980 a memorable occasion. 1 H. 18 - Student Life J.
