Board Of Education Members of our Board of Education have dedicated their time to make the Whitehouse I.S.D. an efficient school system. These men have the responsibility of improving the education and welfare of the youth at Whitehouse. In close cooperation with the administra- tion and faculty. they have worked hard to make our school system reputable all over East Texas. As a result of their hard work and dedication Whitehouse I.S.D. now has four campuses with enrollment of over 1700 students and 85 faculty members and aides. In It .A J 3' HAROLD L. HIGGINS fksdsranl Superintendent For the past two years Lawrence Smith has filled the aflisistant super- intendent's position in the White- house lndependent School District. Mr. Smith was high school principal for 21 years. We really appreciate all the things he does for our school sys- tem. He is in charge of the lunch- room program which includes checking lunchroom records and approving lunchroom hills. Mr. Smith also works with Federal pro- grams. We now have l29 people employed in our school system as a direct result of various programs Mr. Smith has acquired including the compensatory programs and the SETA program. We are grateful to have an administrator in our school system who is as diligent and dedi- cated as Mr. Smith. 4 Supednlendenr Harold Higgins, superintendent of the Whitehouse Independent School District, is a man with much patience, determination, dedication and drive. During the 30 years he has been at Whitehouse, our school system has witnessed the construc- tion of a new high school, middle school, and intermediate school facilities. Among the many tasks of our superintendent are staff inter- views, student-parent conferences, and official meetings. Mr. Higgins provides the Whitehouse Schools with outstanding leadership.
