Foreign Language Department Helps To Further Understanding Ot Foreign Countries One ot the prime purposes ot the Foreign Language Department this year, in addition to the actual teach- ing ot the languages, was to create better understanding ot the people of toreign lands. ln studying a lan- guage, a pupil tound it helpful to know the background and customs ot those who originally spoke it. Thus, with the use ot tilms and other teaching aids, the language teachers at White promoted additional studies ot the world, both in their class- rooms and their respective clnibs. Rome.
