White attended a private showing of Macbeth at the Dallas Theater Center. Faculty and student body alike agreed that the performance was excellent and the fact that they were there as a group made it especially enioyable. The performance of Macbeth was only one of the aids that English teachers used this year. The depart- ment also purchased a tape recorder and record player. In addition, it acquired several sets of records, in- cluding the play Antigone, from which the students could hear the performance of entire selections. BS-NTSU, Soph. Eng. 'R L Fi, . Mathematics Department Tests New Course In Analytics This year, the senior math stu- dents at White were the guinea pigs for a new course entitled Analysis 8. This semester course was taught in the spring, opposite trigonometry. The analysis course ' proved to be very interesting and ditterent in that it successfully com- bined aspects of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Another new course established this year was Advanced Calculus. While using the same book as Pre- Calculus students, the advanced class worked more rapidly and went further in the book.
