IQECUIQD I WE IIDEAIY FDD IQQIQ We, the editors of The Record speak for the class of 1939-a group of young people who for l7 or 18 years have had the privilege of growing up in a democracy and are so grateful for that privilege that they wish to offer their se- nior class book as proof-if proof is nec- essary-of what student life is like in a democracy-happy, carefree, guided by kind, understanding teachers who have been good friends and advisers. Our forebears came from 18 countries-a few from as far back as 1620, many more in the last half century. Yet-We're Americans all! Look over our pages. Let our little book speak for all student life in America-the country of the free and unoppressed.
