Mr. Mason, the principal, and Miss Baker, the vice-principal, shared in these impressive ceremonies. This ls Student Government at Its Best The essence of Student Government lies in the cultivating of the correct attitudes in the minds of the students. Thus the Student Coun- cil is not only a tool and a voice, but it is also a vital part of education. The Council is the proving ground for the principles learned in civics classes - by learning how to govern themselves through a representative body, the students are preparing themselves for their fu- tures as active, well-informed American citi- zens. The orchestra and all the choruses also took part in the program, which was the result of long practice on the part of the participating students and great patience on the part- of Mr. Fred Felmet and Mrs. Holcomb.
