, xg Student Council Officers, J. Freeman, L. Rosser, S. Ama- tucci, and J. Clough, were inducted by the sponsor, Mr. Procopio, in the first school assembly of the year. Mr. Mason, the principal, and Miss Baker, the vice-principal, shared in these impressive ceremonies. This ls Student Government at Its Best The essence of Student Government lies in the cultivating of the correct attitudes in the minds of the students. Thus the Student Coun- cil is not only a tool and a voice, but it is also a vital part of education. The Council is the proving ground for the principles learned in civics classes - by learning how to govern themselves through a representative body, the students are preparing themselves for their fu- tures as active, well-informed American citi- zens.
