Often a student is proud of his school because of the long- standing traditions associated with it. l-le has good reason to be proud of these traditions, for they took years to establish and are an important part of the school. Yet any student who spends his high-school years in a new school with no past history, and for that reason, no traditions, need not feel that he is missing out. Indeed, he should feel that he has been offered a marvelous opportunity - an opportunity to BUILD traditions. Wheaton is a new school - itvhas been established for only three years. Wheaton students are therefore among the lucky ones who are the builders of traditions. Wheaton is what WE make it, might well be the motto of these students. T The first graduating class left its mark on Wheaton last year, a mark of which they can be proud. Yet, the members of this year's Senior Class by no means followed ay well-beaten path which had been worn by many feet. Instead, they had a chance to strike out on their own, to establish new precedents, to lay the foundations of NEW traditions. This was true, in fact, of every class. All were therefore pathfinders. E , The LANCE has tried to catch the active, building spirit of Wheaton in the following pages. We hope we have succeeded:
