FOOTBALL On Thanksgiving Day, a crushing victory over Brockton High School ended another successful season for the Weymouth Maroons. In his second year at Weymouth, Mr. Wheeler coached the team to a commendable 7-2 record. The Maroons suffered two losses this year, to Arlington and Brookline, but proved their true ability by defeating the Class A Champions, Newton, 28-8. The success of this year ' s team was attributed to a combined team effort. Outstanding performances were pro- vided by all seniors, a few of whom were: Bill O ' Brien, Gene Brennan, Bill McCurdy, Rick Lindstrom, and Frank Baldassini. These boys not only con- tributed their fine ability, but also in- spiration and leadership. They made a powerful mark in Weymouth High ' s football history. Next year ' s team should have no trouble continuing Weymouth ' s winning tendencies. Coach Wheeler will have an outstanding nucleus with the return of Jim Murphy, Pat Higgins, and the All-Scholastic members: Tom Mc- Mahon and Jim Taubert. Humm. I thought we had a game today.
