w E D E D I C A T E To rear the tender thought, To teach the young idea how to shoot, To pour the fresh instruction o ' er the mind, To breath the enlivening Spirit, and to fix The generous purpose in the glowing breast. — Thompson J xpressions of sincere gratitude, either by word or deed are so inadequate that we often leave our greatest debts unpaid. This is particularly true when we try to repay Miss Helen Norris and Mr. William Kearns for what they have sacrificed to promote our interests, while they sought no reward but our progress in learning to think, and our ultimate success. At this late date, as we reflect upon their pains- taking efforts to guide us in the right direction, upon their generous patience with our shortcomings, and upon their inspirational leadership, our helplessness in voicing our most genuine sentiments can be under- stood. Therefore, as a slight expression of our warm af- fection and appreciation, we, the Class of 1959, dedi- cate this book to Miss Helen Norris and to Mr. William Kearns.
