The 1984 Wetumpka Indian football team was the best team to ever represent our school. After having an undefeated regular season, the team advanced to the 5A State Play-offs. The Indians won two play-off games before losing to the Demopolis Tigers in the third round of play. During the course of this year, many records were broken. This was the first WHS football team to win a play-off game, and they set the school rushing record for a single game with 535 yards against Southside 2 of Selma.
