TALLASSEE October 25, 1968, will be a day to remember for years to come, as the undefeated and highly praised Tallassee Tigers fell to the savage defense of the Wetumpka Indians. As the 13-7 score indicated, it was truly a brutal defensive struggle all the Way. Coach Tank Mitchell's Tal- lassee troops could never de- velop their highly regarded run- ning attack as the Indians con- tinually stopped theheralded Tiger standouts, Tim Posey and Robert Jones. This was the main reason for the Tallassee winning streak being snapped at six. The Wetumpka defensive unit deserves the glory for this big win as they completely dominat- ed the favored Tigers. Wetumpka - 13 Tallassee - 7

WETUMPKA VS. HOLTVILLE Wetumpka traveled to Holt- ville on a cold November night to do battle with their cross- country rival. For three quarters the Bull- dogs were in quest of a great upset but as the final stanza rolled around the Indians got rolling for two big touchdowns and brought home a victory plus the County Championship. Wetumpka - 14 Holtville - 0 WETUMPKA VS. GREENVILLE The Wetumpka Indians ended their winning season on a sour note as they lost their last battle of the year to the quiet Green- ville Tigers. Greenville's star halfback, Aldridge, Was too much for the Indians to contain as they led the Tigers to a hard fought Victory. It can be written now that Wetumpka lost a few battles this year but won the War. As they ended their season with a 6-4 slate, after doing battle with one of the toughest 3A schedules in the state. Wetumpka- 6 Greenville - 31
