Sponsor Sponsor CLAYTON SCHMITT uniorz Cffass cbfisfofz HE Junior Class of l943-44 began an active year by electing a group of capable and well-qualific officers to direct them in their activities. They include: Shirley Moorhous, President, Joyce Witt, Vit President, Clayton Schmidt, Secretary, and Jessie Myers, Treasurer. Miss Marie Fenn and Mrs. Jui Hall Regehr were chosen to be class sponsors. Later Miss Smith was elected as a sponsor. The most impressive social function of the Juniors during the first semester was their Star Dust Dans given for the entire High School and faculty. The Junior Class Play, Almost Eighteen , was presented in December to a very enthusiastic and respoi sive audience. The cast was composed of Lyle Sheppard, Betty Mahaffie, Don Marvin, Willadean Colby, Joyt Witt, Wildean McCumber, Glenn Adams, Dorothy Coffey, Ursula Henderson, Ray Miller, and Charles C-riffi Miss Smith directed the play. On February l2, the Juniors sponsored a Valentine's Box Social . On February 25, the Junior Bo' played a very amusing basketball game with the men faculty members, after which the Juniors sponsored dance. Several of the Junior boys have offered their sgrvices to Uncle Sam: Bill Stone, Danny Briggs, ar Harry Kellogg. Highlighting the Junior Class Activities was the annual Junior-Senior Prom held in May. This event w. the most important social function of the glass. lt climaxed a year of many varied and interesting activities fi the Junior Class.
