CHANGES THROUGH TIME In the fall of 1975, we the class of 1979, the ex-hot shots of Fletcher Walker, entered Westwood High. Our officers that year were Pres. David Gallegos, VP Donn Warren, Sec. Becky Hampton, Trs. Claudia Morlang, Srg. Arms Alan Jackson, SB rep Wendy Stevens and class cheerleaders Kelly Stevens and Louise Palmer. At Homecoming we won the yell competition, our Prince was David Gallegos and our Princess was Tammy Stevens. We took last in both the hall and float competitions. That year at Paul Bunyans Day we had about 100 points deducted for detentions, and we took 4th place. Our Sophomore year we began 40$ in the hole. Our officers Alan Jackson, Brad Jennings, Becky Hampton, Louise Palmer, Marty Mason, Tammy Stevens, Kelly Stevens, and Scott Ritchie. Our HC Prince was Scott Ritchie and our Princess was Becky Hampton. That year we took a 2nd in the halls and a 4th in the floats. We once again won the yell competition. That spring we won the Superstar Competition and won Paul Bunyans Day by three points. It surprised everyone, including us. Our Junior year saw us 60$ in the hole, and in charge of the Prom. Our officers got everything going, that year they were Scott Ritchie, Claudia Morlang, Julie Spear, Tammy Wallace, Marty Mason, Brad Jennings and Kelly Stevens. That year in Homecoming we took 2nd in the halls and 2nd in the float competition. Our Prince that year was Alan Jackson, and the Princess was Louise Palmer. That year was the first year we had a Basketball Homecoming and it was sponsored by our class. Our Prince was Brad Jennings, and our Princess was Louise Palmer, Brad was crowned King. We then put on the Christmas Dance that we bearly broke even on. We then began work on the Prom, the chairman was Louise Palmer. The theme was “Mystic Moments” in blue and silver. That spring we won the Superstar Week again, and “smoked” on Paul Bunyans Day. Our Senior year saw us 100$ in the hole. Our officers saw to it that we were soon out of it. Our officers that year were Marty Mason, David Gallegos, Tammy Wallace, Tammy Overton, Brad Jennings, Scott Ritchie, Claudia Morlang and Kelly Stevens. Our Homecoming Prince was Marty Mason and our Princess was Kathy Miller, Marty was crowned King. That year we also had a senior on the cheerleading squad, Jan Hutchinson. We took 1st in the halls and 2nd in the gym, we had deleted the float competition. As of right now we have 1800$ that will go towards our Senior Trip, as of now we are supposed to go to Marriotts. We are looking forward to winning Paul Bunyans Day for the third year in a row and our Graduation which will be held on June 8, the girls in white and the guys in red. 24
