Over 86117 fans had come to see the undefeated, Warriors take on the top-ranked McClin- tock Chargers. Now they eagerly awaited the announcement of the i985-86 Homecoming K ing and Queen. The bleachers erupt- ed in shouts and cheers of excitement as the names, Rodney Bonner and Nicole Phelps, echoed through the stadium. The Marching Band and the Warriorettes added to the roman- tic atmosphere of Homecoming by performing For Your Eyes Only, featuring trumpet soloist, Ward Chapman, and director, Dan Shindele. Band alumni joined in on their second number, Boogie Down. A few Warriorette and cheerleading alumni led cheers to boost Westwood spirit. This year's Homecoming floats were outstanding. Taking first place. the junior class proudly displayed an eagle. a warrior head dress, and the Statue of Liberty, in front of the American flag, depicting the theme, '34merica's Dream is Westwood's Future. The senior float captured second place with a colorful, surfing Gumby, showing everyone how to Carch the Spirit. Coming in third place, the sophomores used a giant clock to illustrate the theme, The Best of Times. All aspects of Home- coming '85 were superb, and will be remembered by senior, junior, and sophie Warriors alike. T in ti , 1' xt Q3 T' -....t , Q it ,. :a fx Q . .Qi : gig 5 - K K Q N . -
