Scoresby Counselor Head Counselor Counselor The purpose of an organized guidance program is to assist the individual to an understanding of himself and his environment so that he will select suitable courses of action contributing to his personal, educational, and vocational development and adjustment. Counselors collect, organize, and interpret information about students and their opportunities. This includes registration information to assist with schedule planning, college requirements and available scholarships, part time employment, and vocational information. Counselors also give assistance to teachers, administrators, other school personnel, and parents in matters concerning irregular attendance, subject failures, and social and emotional problems. ! 1 Harold M. SECRETARIES PLAY VITAL ROLE Rm Eula Harris Audrey Morphis Georgia Wright Mrs. Eula Harris serves as Secretary to Mr. Brimhall and is instrumental in keeping the school machinery functioning. Mrs. Audrey Morphis ca- pably fulfills her duties as secretary to the assistant principals, and Mrs. Georgia Wright devotes her energies as secretary to the counselors. The attendance office begins its busy day at 8 a. m. with the phones ringing and yesterday's ab- sentees fighting the lines to pick up their admit- tance slips. Keeping track of 2,000 students is not a simple task, but Westwood's attendance crew does a tremendous job keeping our school records up to date. ATTE DA CE STAFF KEPTBUST ATTENDANCE OFFICE clerks maintain a steady hum of activity in order to keep accurate records. 325323 FV riziffel M . Andre Messali, a native of Pari France, replaced Mr. Orley haw as bookstore man- ager th year. Another new- er the bookstore staff is Era I rengle. E school day. School Nurse Anna Cramer has been in the nursing profession for thirty years and she enjoys her work im- mensely. About 60 patients come to her office each school day. Mrs. Cramer also sponsors the Future Nurses of America and hopes more students will con- sider nursing as a career. SCHOOL NURSE Anna Cramer fills out a medical reportxfor one of her patients. 14 SPECIAL S RVICES SALU TED LUNCH TIME proves to be a work hour for the bookstore student helpers. Students can purchase sandwiches, cold drinks, ice cream and candy to provide them with enough energy to complete their Shirley Olson Plant Engineer Mr. Olson has the complete charge of all electrical and heating facilities for Westwood. It is his task to maintain proper classroom temperatures so stu- dents can learn more effective- ly. l
