Brimhall keeps active in his post as chief administrator of Westwood. ln addition to his role of general supervision, he is also responsible for budgets, selection of personnel, and improve- ment of instruction. He is also concerned with student activity, safety, discipline and a myriad of other duties. Mr. Sizemore's areas of specialization are class scheduling, registration, testing, discipline, instruction, and attendance records. I-Ie also finds time to deal with student-teacher relationships, college entrance, scholarships, and teacher super- vision. Mr. Pomeroy, who was new to Westwood this year, was in charge of student activities, student funds, and athletic events. ,,,. V ffl! LE UEUR ELECTED TO BOARD School Board members are elected for five-year terms and it is their duty to set policy for the Mesa Public Schools. Dr. Keith Lassen, former board president, did not run for re-election and was replaced by Mr. Wallace LeSueur. Dr. john Kerr is now president and Dr. jesse Conant is clerk. CHAMBERLAI SCHOOL BOARD: STAND- ING: Mr. E.C. Hussey, Dr. john Kerr, Mr. Dilworth Brinton, Mr. Wallace Le- Sueur. SEATED: Dr. jesse Conant, Dr. Keith Lassen. The superintendent and his two assistants see that policies of the school board are carried out. Mr Rulon T. Shepherd has served as superintendent since the spring of 1953. Associate Superintendent Gavin C. I-lumphrey's main duty is hiring of personnel for the schools. SECRETARIES PLAY VITAL ROLE Rm Eula Harris Audrey Morphis Georgia Wright Mrs. Eula Harris serves as Secretary to Mr. Brimhall and is instrumental in keeping the school machinery functioning. Mrs. Audrey Morphis ca- pably fulfills her duties as secretary to the assistant principals, and Mrs. Georgia Wright devotes her energies as secretary to the counselors. The attendance office begins its busy day at 8 a. m. with the phones ringing and yesterday's ab- sentees fighting the lines to pick up their admit- tance slips. Keeping track of 2,000 students is not a simple task, but Westwood's attendance crew does a tremendous job keeping our school records up to date.
